T-Section Highlights
Highlights through the parting and around the hairline only — the “T” of hair that frames your face and shows most.
Who it’s for
The quickest and cheapest way to get brightness where it’s visible. Good for a first try at highlights, or for keeping the front looking fresh between bigger appointments.
What you also need to book
- A toner. This service doesn’t include one. If we’re using lightener, book the BlondorPlex Toner; otherwise add a toner.
- A cut or a blow-dry, so you leave finished.
What to know
- Only the top and front are lightened. If you tie your hair back, or want lightness through the whole head, book half or full head.
- If it’s brightness around the face you’re after rather than the whole parting, Face Frame Foils is the smaller version.
- Patch test: needed if you’re new to colour with us, or haven’t had colour here in the last six months — at least 48 hours before.

“I know a few people who go to PeterJames and their hair always looks fabulous so I thought I would try too after having a disaster! From the min I worked in for my patch test I felt welcome (so did my daughter who loved the dogs!) James and I talked over what we could do and where I wanted to be (was dark brown/grey! And wanted blonde) he explained it would take a few appointments which I was absolutely fine with as he was so honest.. he booked me in with Peter for the following week and again, Peter went over and explained everything to me, he advised on products etc and I left feeling amazing and had a nice Colour after getting highlights.. unfortunately I was really unwell between my appointments and in and out of hospital but I kept in touch and Peter even sent my products I had ordered to my parents house where I was staying for a bit.I am just home from my second appointment and my hair looks and feels fantastic, the colour is amazing and I cannot believe the shine (I’ve never had a shine when having blonde hair before!) just arranged to go out with my friend tonight as I feel so much more confident!! What does the T-section cover?
The parting and around the hairline only: the "T" of hair that frames your face and shows most. Only the top and front are lightened.
Is this a good way to try highlights for the first time?
Yes. It's the quickest and cheapest way to get brightness where it's visible, and it's good for a first try at highlights. It also works for keeping the front looking fresh between bigger appointments.
When should I book half head or full head instead?
If you tie your hair back, or want lightness through the whole head, book Half Head or Full Head Highlights.
How is it different from Face Frame Foils?
Face Frame Foils is the smaller version, for brightness around the face rather than the whole parting. It's only bookable within ten weeks of your last colour appointment.
Is a toner included?
No, this service doesn't include one. If we're using lightener, book the BlondorPlex Toner; otherwise, add a toner to your booking.
