    Peter

    With over 12 years’ experience in the hairdressing industry, Peter began his career as an apprentice with Cheynes Hairdressing in Edinburgh, where he developed the foundations of his craft and quickly established himself as an ambitious and creatively driven young hairdresser. At just 19, Peter progressed to the regional heats of Wella TrendVision, alongside gaining experience in editorial shoots and magazine work early in his career. While these opportunities gave him an invaluable creative foundation, Peter soon discovered that his true passion was commercial hairdressing — being behind the chair, building long-term relationships with clients and creating beautiful, wearable hair.

    James

    James’ route into hairdressing is a story of ambition, determination and a willingness to completely change direction in pursuit of a career he knew was right for him. After building a successful career in hotel management, James made the decision in his late twenties to enter the hairdressing industry. Beginning his training at college before continuing his education with Cheynes Hairdressing in Edinburgh, James’ natural aptitude for the craft quickly became clear.

    Zowie has been part of the PeterJames journey almost from the very beginning. With seven years in the hairdressing industry, she joined PeterJames as an apprentice just one year after the salon opened and became Peter’s first apprentice to be trained through both her Level 2 and Level 3 hairdressing qualifications. Now Senior Creative Director, Zowie has grown into an accomplished all-round hairdresser, confident across cutting, colouring and styling, with a particular passion and expertise for all things blonde. From beautifully blended, dimensional colour to her signature creamy blondes, Zowie has become one of the salon’s go-to blonde experts.

  • Oli, Graduate Stylist

    Graduate Stylist

    Oli

    Oli began her professional hairdressing journey with PeterJames, completing her Level 2 qualification under the guidance and education of the salon team. Now working as a Graduate Stylist, she is continuing to develop her craft while working towards her Level 3 qualification. With a natural flair for all things hair, Oli has shown an instinctive eye for colour, cutting and styling from the very beginning. Creative, enthusiastic and eager to continually develop, she brings a fresh perspective to the salon floor while already demonstrating the confidence and attention to detail of an exciting emerging stylist.

  • Keeva, Apprentice Stylist

    Apprentice Stylist

    Keeva

    Keeva is currently working towards her Level 2 Hairdressing qualification at PeterJames, developing her skills through a combination of hands-on salon experience, structured education and one-to-one training with the team. Already showing a particular strength for beautiful blow-dries and hair-ups, Keeva has a natural eye for finishing and styling hair. At weekends, clients can book directly with Keeva for both blow-dry and hair-up appointments, giving her the opportunity to continue building her experience behind the chair while offering the full PeterJames client experience.

  • Alana, Nail Technician

    Nail Technician

    Alana

    With over 10 years of full-time experience in the nail industry, Alana brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity and meticulous attention to detail to PeterJames. Long before working from the salon, Alana was already part of the PeterJames story as a client from the very beginning. In June 2026, she joined the space as an independent, self-employed nail technician — and very quickly became part of the fabric of salon life.
