In a July 2026 survey of 600 women who buy their own haircare, carried out by piiq Digital through Pollfish, 87.3% said they had bought a product that turned out to be wrong for their hair type.

And what you use on your hair doesn’t only matter to your hair. Your scalp is skin. The shampoo, conditioner and treatments you use are applied directly to it and, as they’re rinsed, can also come into contact with the skin on your face, neck and body.

Wella Professionals — at the heart of PeterJames

Wella Professionals has been part of Peter and James’ careers from the very beginning. Both trained with Wella colour from the earliest stages of their hairdressing education, building their careers and colour expertise around the brand.

Today, Peter and James are undertaking the prestigious Wella Master Colour Expert programme, one of Wella’s highest-level colour accolades, further developing their expertise in advanced colour theory, formulation, consultation and corrective colour before graduating from the programme.

For us, Wella represents much more than the colour we use behind the chair. It’s a longstanding professional relationship built around colour innovation, education and continually developing our craft.

System Professional — personalised haircare, powered by science

System Professional sits at the heart of our professional haircare and treatment offering. Its highly prescriptive philosophy mirrors our own: understand the hair first, then prescribe what it actually needs.

Every member of the PeterJames team is CAREOLOGIST accredited, giving our team specialist education in understanding individual hair and scalp needs and creating personalised System Professional care recommendations.

Using advanced hair science and LipidCode™ technology, System Professional allows us to create individual routines around concerns including repair, hydration, colour protection, blonde care, scalp balance, volume, smoothness and purification.

Its professional treatment portfolio has also transformed what we’re able to achieve in the salon, allowing us to select and layer treatments according to the individual needs of the hair. You’ll find the System Professional treatments we offer on the service menu.

At PeterJames, we believe scalp and hair health should be looked at from more than one direction. Our Scalp Clinic follows an Inside-Out Method — supporting your hair and scalp topically while also considering how healthy hair can be supported from within.

Nioxin is our specialist professional partner for scalp health, thinning, shedding, hair ageing and changes in density.

It is, in the Institute of Trichologists’ own words, the only salon hair-thinning brand endorsed by the Institute — and every member of the PeterJames team is NIOLOGIST accredited, giving our team specialist education around scalp health, thinning and hair loss.

Combined with our digital scalp microscopy, professional treatments and targeted homecare, Nioxin allows us to take a much closer and more individual approach to scalp and hair concerns.

Our philosophy is simple: understand, support, prevent. We believe hair loss is often better approached early and preventatively, rather than waiting until significant changes have already occurred.

KILLABRUSH — a smarter approach to hairbrush hygiene

How clean is the hairbrush you use every day?

Your hairbrush regularly collects sebum, dead skin cells, styling products and microorganisms, including bacteria and potentially yeasts and fungi. Yet it’s one of the most overlooked parts of our haircare routine.

At PeterJames Scalp & Hair Clinic, we’re proud to be official stockists of KILLABRUSH, an innovative antimicrobial hairbrush designed to make everyday hairbrush hygiene easier.

Unlike conventional brushes, KILLABRUSH incorporates antimicrobial technology directly into its bristles during manufacturing, rather than relying on a surface coating. Its antibacterial performance has been independently tested to ISO 22196.

For us, KILLABRUSH is a natural extension of our scalp-health philosophy. Looking after your scalp isn’t just about the shampoos, serums and treatments you use — it’s also about the tools that come into contact with it every day.
