Two minutes from the station and tram stop.
PeterJames is a hair salon and a scalp clinic in one, at 119-121 Dalry Road. If you work or live around Haymarket, the West End or Dalry, it’s the hairdresser on your doorstep for a cut or colour, and the place to come when your scalp or hair has been worrying you.
The closest station to us
Haymarket station and the Haymarket tram stop are two minutes’ walk from the salon — close enough to book an appointment either side of a train, or to come straight from work without building a special trip around it. We’re open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, and until 7pm on Thursdays.
Cutting and colour
A cut, wash and blow-dry, a gents’ cut or a children’s cut; colour from a full head tint or highlights to hand-painted balayage and babylights that grow out without a hard line. If you’re thinking of going lighter, Blonde explains how we do it.
New to colour with us? You’ll need an Allergy Alert Test at least 48 hours before your first colour appointment. There’s no appointment needed for it, so if you’re passing through Haymarket, pop in during opening hours and we’ll do it then (more in our FAQs).
Not sure who to book with? Tell us a little about your hair and what you’d like, and we’ll point you to the right member of the team.
Hair extensions
We fit Remi Cachet Elegance extensions: Mini Tips, Ultra Tips, Tapes and Wefts. Every extension service starts with an in-salon consultation, where we look at your own hair and scalp before recommending a method, so extensions can’t be booked online.
The scalp clinic
The other half of PeterJames is the Scalp, Menopause & Hair Loss Clinic: a dedicated appointment if you’ve noticed more shedding, thinning, an irritated scalp or changes to your hair through menopause. We take a much closer look at your scalp and hair with a high-magnification digital scalp microscope, talk it through with you, and you leave with personalised written recommendations. If we think something needs a doctor or dermatologist, we’ll tell you.
Not ready to book? Ask us a question first, with no obligation.
Coming from nearby
The West End is just the other side of Haymarket, so the salon is the walk you’d make past the station anyway. Fountainbridge is an easy walk, and Leith is on the same tram line, with no change needed. And if you live in Dalry, we’re on your street.
Worth knowing
If you’re arriving by tram, Dalry Road is a short walk from the Haymarket stop rather than a separate journey.
Booking
Check availability and pricing for a cut, colour or treatment, or book a clinic consultation if it’s your scalp or hair you’d like looked at.
