Colour Touch
Our demi-permanent colour service, using Wella Professionals Colour Touch. It adds tone, richness and shine without lifting your natural colour — it sits on the hair rather than changing its structure, and fades gradually rather than leaving a line.
Every formula is mixed for you, to suit your hair, your skin tone and the result you’re after.
Who it’s for
Refreshing faded or dull colour. Going darker, or adding richness and depth. Blending early or scattered greys softly rather than covering them solidly. Anyone who wants a colour change with no commitment and no hard regrowth line.
What you also need to book
A cut or a blow-dry — a cut, wash and blow-dry or a wash and blow-dry — alongside this service.
What to know
- It won’t make you lighter, and it won’t give solid coverage on stubborn or dense grey. For that, book a tint.
- Gentler than permanent colour — a good option if your hair is fragile, or if you’re colouring for the first time.
- Long or thick hair, more than one formulation, or a more complex result may need additional colour, which is charged on top.
- Patch test: needed if you’re new to colour with us, or haven’t had colour here in the last six months — at least 48 hours before.

“I was visiting from overseas and usually quite pedantic with my foils. I found Zowie on instagram and I’m so glad I did! She made me the most perfect golden blonde that I’ve been trying to get hairdressers to achieve for a long time now. She was also very thorough and gentle and all around a good person. “I know a few people who go to PeterJames and their hair always looks fabulous so I thought I would try too after having a disaster! From the min I worked in for my patch test I felt welcome (so did my daughter who loved the dogs!) James and I talked over what we could do and where I wanted to be (was dark brown/grey! And wanted blonde) he explained it would take a few appointments which I was absolutely fine with as he was so honest.. he booked me in with Peter for the following week and again, Peter went over and explained everything to me, he advised on products etc and I left feeling amazing and had a nice Colour after getting highlights.. unfortunately I was really unwell between my appointments and in and out of hospital but I kept in touch and Peter even sent my products I had ordered to my parents house where I was staying for a bit.I am just home from my second appointment and my hair looks and feels fantastic, the colour is amazing and I cannot believe the shine (I’ve never had a shine when having blonde hair before!) just arranged to go out with my friend tonight as I feel so much more confident!! Will Colour Touch make my hair lighter?
No. It adds tone, richness and shine without lifting your natural colour, so it won't make you lighter. To go lighter overall, look at Full Head Bleach & Tone.
Will it cover my grey?
It blends early or scattered greys softly rather than covering them solidly, and it won't give solid coverage on stubborn or dense grey. For that, book a tint. Full Head Tint is the best grey coverage on our menu.
How is it different from a permanent tint?
Colour Touch is demi-permanent: it sits on the hair rather than changing its structure, and fades gradually rather than leaving a hard regrowth line. It's gentler than permanent colour, so it's a good option if your hair is fragile or you're colouring for the first time.
Do I need to book anything else with it?
Yes, a cut or a blow-dry. Book a cut, wash and blow-dry or a wash and blow-dry alongside this service.
Can I have it at the same appointment as a Re-Growth Tint?
Yes. If your lengths have faded, add a Colour Touch to your Re-Growth Tint to refresh them at the same appointment.
